DANTE SOUNDS is not just a brand; it is the embodiment of a musician’s dream to bring authenticity back to music through his vast experiences and musicality.

 

Born in Hausen am Albis, Switzerland, Tobias’ musical journey began in the kitchen when he was 4, where his mum often found him drumming on her cooking pots. Realizing that music is incomplete with just beats and rhythm, Tobias picked up the piano at the age of 9, adding harmonics and melodies to his musical journey.

 

At 20, Tobias bought his first guitar - a Stratocaster from Aria and taught himself how to play. Tobias honed his guitar‑playing skills with Ueli Gasser who also introduced him to the music of John Mayer. With time, Tobias would discover other artistes who would greatly influence his music style e.g. Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Robben Ford, and Oz Noy. Their music inspired Tobias to study music at the Winterthurer Institut für Aktuelle Musik (WIAM) where he graduated from in 2015 with a Masters in Music.

 

Tobias has played with several Swiss bands; his guitar sounds can be heard on records like Henrik Fjorden’s “Däfür oder Dagegen” and Mättu Röthlisberger’s “Einisch um d'Wäut”. In 2016, Tobias released his first solo EP with his band, Tobias Upright Trio, “Say Hello”. His most recent country guitar sounds can be heard on Amber Rae's record “Ghost Town”. 

 

Not one to be content with status quo, Tobias continues draws inspiration from artists across all genres including Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Blues, and Soul to build his musical repertoire.

 

Tired of listening to cookie cutter music being played on the radio these days, Tobias’ musical journey has led him to form “Dante Sounds” to bring good music back to mainstream music. Tobias hopes his experience in songwriting, recording and mixing music, singing, and producing songs will attract fellow like-minded artistes to work/collaborate with him to bring authenticity back to music.
